Milton Keynes has a considerably younger labour force than the nation as a whole, which is a reflection of the overall age structure of the city.

Milton Keynes' location also means that the travel-to-work catchment area greatly increases the pool of available labour. There is a total population of over 1 million people within 30 minutes drive time of the city.
